Ronnie Campbell is a true gentleman Always willing to help and always a great day afloat wether going for the Big Girls (Common Skate) or general fishing 10/10
Excellent rods for the money, fish's well above it's price range in terms of action etc, IMO a genuine bargain !
Simply the best 7ht variant out there, no mags to fiddle with, best casting 7HT reel and a double paddle power handle.
I had my pb Cod in Norway on one of these 48lb 7oz it handled it with ease and a great all round rod from Century.
What can I say about this outstanding fishing location top digs and a top guide on site. This place makes dreams come true not every chuck is a 40lber but I did manage two over that in my first trip out with Phil and been going back ever since plenty of species with a very real chance of a few Pb's.
Very smooth nice looking eyes, I got mine in titanium....but I have find them to be very delicate, slightest knock and the inserts come out.
If you're looking for a no nonsense reel for rough ground work and don't want to spend a fortune, this is the reel for you. The gear box does protrude slightly if casting up the butt and can potentially hamper your thumb gripping the spool, but by casting down the butt you can get a far better purchase on the spool if going for a big cast. They cast well and the ratchet is probably one of the nicest you will hear.
A fantastic grippy boot with tungsten studs. The boot is a neoprene so nice and waterproof, but sadly lacks any ankle support, which is my only criticism. I have used on some very slippery rocks and cliffs. The grip is amazing but doesn't turn you into spiderman you still need to exercise caution on the slopes and boulders, but they make slippery cliffs safer where grip is paramount to your safety.
This line is better than amnesia in my eyes!! It's a great line ..knots relly well and don't kink .. also the price is wicked if u make a lot of figs up!
Brilliant boat, great skipper, very friendly and forthcoming with tea. Good boat to fish the wrecks on, gets out there fast. Doesn't look like the most deck space of any charter boat but it's well laid out and there's loads of room to fish, more than some much bigger boats I've been on. Highly recommend.
I would definitely want to do this again! The All-In Angling boys took all the hassle that normally goes with travelling and made it a great trip. We caught so many fish! Loads of species too. I could not fault the holiday it was brilliant!
I used to suffer with cold feet when fishing but not any more, rated to minus 40 although I only been to -3 so far but not sign of cold feet Super comfortable feels like wearing training shoes, nice thick sole I also studded mine and they are not the perfect boot for all my fishing scenarios
A must have accessory for your fishing box, I pack everything but the kitchen sink when I go fishing and being able to put the whole box load on my box comfortably definitely makes life a little easier when your on the go, The back rest is also a bonus on they long quiet night sessions when not a lot is happening
Had the rod 2 weeks great feel to it casts like a dream and still have had its full potential yet. And can tell a small bite 150 yards in a big swell .
Probably the best invention yet, this toppa tray says what it is in the name "toppa" best £3.50 I've spent. All my weights were at the bottom of my box before I purchased this.
Great stand at a great cost. 6ft and 7t stands but I think it's best to get the 7ft as it has extendable legs so is 6ft when not extended. Loads of added features that you can add on them aswell
have used this shop for over 20 years now russ and jeff are top blokes notjing to much trouble for them they always go the extra mile to sort anything out always happy to take a call to order bait tackle etc or just if you need advice etc they are there very good shop thats a credit to the area if your every lical definitely worth popping in for a chat yes i highly recommend this shop
One of the first rods I bought and it is awesome still have it now casts very smoothly and can handle all types of ground. It can handle big baits and sits nice in the tide would recommend this rod to any one
Interestingly I have heard these criticised, a couple of anglers said they broke on them with big fish, but personally I love these for big fish baits for congers, big cod etc and I have never had a problem. They also do great Pennel hooks in these, which avoid kinking the line.
Had problems with leads sticking in the breakaway tray, speaking to dave about it, he recommended trying the toppa. Problem solved. Weights held in place all the time, but easy to remove when needed. Perfect addition to any breakaway tray!
I got my first T1000 from here, as my local shop wasn't selling them at the time and I hadn't done my research on the best people to buy Century through. I was quite happy to pay when ordering it, as they told me it wasn't in stock, but would be within a week and it would be sent straight out. I waited over 4 weeks for them to have it in stock, all the while they'd held my money so I couldn't get it elsewhere. I feel that telling me it was a week till they would be in was just to get my money and secure the order. There were also no pro-active attempts to update me when it went over a week. I had to keep chasing them. Terrible customer service.
Good solid, simple tripods that do everything you need. Dave Lovelock is a stickler for quality and you can see this from the high grade all aluminium construction. The accessories available are all of a high spec too.
this is a hook i prefer to use on my rough ground fishing when i need a hook to be able to land a big fish but a hook that i could bend out of any snags to prevent gear loses
Small reel with a big reel attitude ! v same winching power as the fathom 15 in a more compact frame, casts superb, smooth silky drag, and comfortable power handle. Has been said fathoms have issues with going through brake blocks, this i cured with replacing with Abu fibre blocks, just the two, and it's now the perfect reel for distance ray fishing, there is always the option to Mag them, but the fibre blocks do the job a treat !
I'm not a big fan of gloves for fishing, but if the weather gets really cold they are nice to have. These are particularly warm and as good as any I've tried. Having fingers free to bait up is a must.
Although well built I found few probs I don't like about this rest Locking legs to long can't get tripod low enough when needed and the rods sit to far apart for my personal liking and go off at angles not straight up I took leg lock kits off And bought need head and cups to make rods sit how I'd like them I do like how compact it goes down
Nice power, but poor quality fittings and a very thick butt compared to equivalent rods on the market... which might not be a problem to some, but does affect my ability to get my thumb round the spool for casting. Good for the money, but I always think that phrase is an excuse for lower quality - I'd sooner something good regardless of the money.
The only fixed spool reels I use, 20000 Stella's Bristol Channel Twin power for lure fishing For Chesil it's the Saragossa I've tried the rest and now I use the best shimano!!
I had a pair of mk1 Match -lasted me years, and really bought a new lease of life with a full rebuild a few years before they were sold. Still being put to good use by the new owner now -I only sold when I got some T800's. They are a great all rounder for 5-6oz of lead. I used them in Norway catching double figure Cod and used them scratching in matches back home. Excellent bite detection, sits well in a tide, loads up easily, power to pull out of snags. If I hadn't have been able to get myself the T800's, just as a newer rod with a Glass Tip, I'd still be using them now.
After struggling with bungee cords to hold my kid shut I bought this, fitted in 10 minutes and my box is better than new.
A lovely reel very smooth and casts like a dream. Definately a clean ground reel. The magnofuge braking system makes it difficult to blow up and also helps you gain those few extra yards. Its an easy reel to maintain and also a cracking looking reel. It is a pleasure to use.
good little shop in burnham on sea been there for years not a bad selection of tackle and bait for freshwater a bit limted on the sea side of things old bob only stocks rag worm no lug no frozen blacks but does have squid mackerel and sand eel in normally always friendly and happy to chat worth popping in if you that way
The first hook out the packet when targeting smaller species been around for years and you wont find a match angler without them in his box.
Great match hook slightly bigger than most. Best with crab baits but not to big for flounders, whitings ect no hook up,they have enough strength to lift 3-4lb codling up the river wall no problem.
Just started using these great for little bit of glow to get the fish interested in your hook bait very bright and glow longer than most beads ect when charged up with a UV torch.
What a cracking reel! The magnofuge system means that it's pretty much impossible to birdsnest with the mags on full. The power handle is a nice touch and not too much for the size of the reel. It's easy to grip the spool up or down the but as the reel sits low to the blank. One of the best reels out there for clean ground work in my opinion.
This reel is now my preferred one for Norwegian big fish trips. When magged up it casts well even with large baits. Unlike other '30s' the profile is small enough to easily get a good thumb grip on which helps when fishing in cold icey conditions.
Fantastic reels very strong yet can send a bait very far it comes into its own over the rough grounds
A great match hook when using ragworm baits for flounder. The point is really long and sharp. I've done well in the past using the smaller sizes with fish baits when targeting dogfish but I've also landed a double figure cod in a big sea using them. Narrower in the gape than the Big Mouth but perfect for smaller species in general.
These seem pretty bomb proof. Really well made, plenty of double stitching, welded seems... and boots with amazing grip. Just the job when reef wading.
Nice spacious boat. Has always found the fish when I've been out on it. Plenty of tea and coffee supplied! Tiny downside when I was last on it (may be different now) was the mooring. Had to clamber over another boat to get to it. Made it a bit more awkward with the gear.
Absolutely excellent. Cannot rate this item highly enough. For someone with bad knees like me, I hate kneeling or even sitting to bait. The bait tray at a standing level and quick accessibility to the hanging rigs is invaluable, as is the reliability that clipped up rigs will stay clipped up whilst waiting to be used. Alternative stand alone options aren't viable on some marks, but this can go anywhere the box goes. Super light and super compact when packed down. A must for any match angler.
